Beautiful and rare Kyoto lounge chair designed by Guy Rogers in the late 1950s , its an early example with a large solid brass bolt holding the back rest in place, later versions have two screws which attach through the Afromosia frame.
An unusual and simple design totally open frame to show the angles of the seat and back rest with exposed joints showing the contrasting colours of the solid afromosia.
A system i’ve not seen
used in any other mid century chair, the ply seat base is held in place with rubber webbing and brass hooks which hold it tight in the frame.

CONDITION - It’s in very good order as its been stripped back to the bones and totally restored with a new blue wool fabric and the webbing replaced and the ply seat base strengthened.
